Have you ever thought about that verse in depth? It's a verse we learn at an early age and it comes to the point where we can just repeat it from memory, but have we taken time to really study it?
Let's start by breaking down the verse. "For God." Let's look at the word "for". When you see the word "for" in a sentence, it talks about a purpose or reason for something. In the first verse it states "For God". God giving His son to the world was first FOR Him. We were created to worship God. We belong to Him. We are FOR God.
"For God SO loved" ... The word "SO" means to such a great extent. God had such a great love for us that He gave His only Son to become SIN for us so that we could have everlasting life. Believing in Jesus Christ gives us access to God for us to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father. He had such a love for us that He gave up something. We think it was FOR us, but in all reality it was FOR Him.
Our worship to God is all that He wants. We worship so many things in this world. We were created to worship so we will worship something. It could be your career, your family, or your ministry, but you will worship something!
Everyday our focus, our worship, should be on the one who is FOR us and loves us like no other.
Our mind has a hard time comprehending that love from someone that we can't touch, but He touches our lives everyday by the people He puts in our path. If we, the world, could only learn to love to that extent, we would begin to see how much for God so loved.
